Revived Marques

An automotive name can outlive the company that created it. Decades after factories close and production ends, the reputation of a marque may remain powerful enough for a new generation of entrepreneurs, engineers and investors to attempt a revival. This collection gathers cars that became tangible expressions of those efforts: models produced under historic names returning after substantial periods of inactivity. Some revivals sought to recreate the craftsmanship, engineering philosophy or visual character associated with the original manufacturer; others used heritage primarily as a foundation for something entirely modern. The challenge was always greater than simply acquiring a badge. A revived marque had to establish manufacturing capability, develop credible products, rebuild customer trust and compete in a market that had often changed beyond recognition since the original company disappeared.
