Step back in time to 1964, the year Ferrari unveiled its newest creation at the Paris Salon - the 275 series. With a sleek and powerful design, this new model was the perfect replacement for the long-running 250 GT platform. Powered by the latest update of the Colombo short-block V-12, which had been enlarged to displace 3.3 litres, the 275 series offered two forms - a race-worthy berlinetta built by Scaglietti and a luxurious grand touring spider built by Pininfarina.

While the two models shared many mechanical components, their styles and final results were dramatically different. Pininfarina’s open-top 275 GTS was a nod to earlier Ferraris, with a shorter bonnet than the berlinetta and a prominent front grille, wing vents, and a truncated tail that embodied the classic Italian roadster look. The GTS was an elegant touring car rather than a purposeful racer and became the ideal replacement for the luxurious 250 GT Cabriolet that had ceased production in 1962, in every respect its spiritual successor.

Only 200 examples of the 275 GTS were built through early 1966, making this touring spider an incredibly rare and sought-after model by Ferrari enthusiasts today. The 275 GTS is praised for its sublime coachwork, enjoyable open-air driving experience, and powerful drivetrain. The spiders were equipped with wire-spoke wheels and had the same 3.3-litre engine as the GTB, but they had a unique character of their own. Driving a 275 GTS is a thrilling experience, offering the perfect combination of style and power that defines the Ferrari brand.
